How We Make Money
iGrow Wealth is free to read. To keep it that way, we earn money in two ways: display advertising and affiliate partnerships. This page explains how that works, and the rules we follow to make sure it doesn't compromise what you read.
Display advertising
You will see banner and in-article ads on the Site. These are served by third-party advertising networks [e.g., Google AdSense, Mediavine, Raptive]. We do not choose individual advertisers, and the appearance of an ad does not constitute an endorsement by us.
Affiliate partnerships
Many of the financial products we discuss — credit cards, brokerage accounts, high-yield savings accounts, mortgages, loans, insurance — have affiliate programs. When you click certain links on our Site and apply for or open an account, we may earn a commission from the company offering the product.
We participate in (or may participate in) affiliate programs operated by, among others:
- Bankrate / CreditCards.com
- CardRatings
- CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction)
- FlexOffers
- Impact
- Direct partnerships with banks, brokerages, and fintech companies
Affiliate links are sometimes marked, but they may not always be. Assume that links to financial products on this Site are affiliate links unless otherwise noted.
Does this affect what we recommend?
Short answer: no.
Longer answer:
- Our editorial decisions about which products to cover, recommend, or criticize are made independently of our advertising and affiliate relationships.
- We cover and review products whether or not we have an affiliate relationship with them.
- The order of products in our comparisons is based on our editorial judgment of which is best for the stated audience — not on which pays us the highest commission.
- We will recommend a product we do not earn from, and we will criticize a product we do earn from, when the analysis calls for it.
- The commission we receive does not change the price you pay or the terms you receive.
What we will never do
- Claim "guaranteed approval" or "instant approval" for any credit product
- Hide negative product attributes that you should know about
- Accept payment from a company in exchange for a positive review
- Allow advertisers to review or approve our editorial coverage of them
FTC compliance
This Site complies with the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255). Any material connection between us and a company whose product we recommend is disclosed here and, where required, in proximity to the recommendation itself.
